The Alberta Library is now offering licensing services to Schools and School Divisions through our newly developed program, Discovery Link. Consider licensing through TAL to get the best deal and save valuable staff time. TAL can provide you with equitable access to quality authoritative resources that have been created, edited, and updated by experts in the field of study for the classroom. ​

What is The Alberta Library? 

Why License with Discovery Link?

Incorporated in 1997, The Alberta Library (TAL) is a non-profit organization that provides services to libraries. TAL’s #1 service is licensing, we deliver licensed information resources to members and customers. 

• Over the past 24 years TAL has developed long-term relationships with over 50 vendors to negotiate the best possible price and access terms using our model license agreement.
  
• Last year 213 opt-in licensed resources worth over $7.5 million were purchased, saving over $2.2 million for our members, an average of 29%. 

Our staff are experts at evaluating resources for:

• Diverse learners
• Connection to the Alberta Curriculum 
  
•  TAL works with other library consortia across Canada to leverage purchasing power which results in significant savings. 
• While the offers show the annual (Jan-Dec) pricing we can also do Sept-Dec (16 month) licensing and we make that easy for you.

​Please note the pricing on the offers is the annual (January- December) cost but we can offer superrating for September 2021 to December 2022.
